Cellulite and Liposuction
Liposuction is primarily used for body
contouring purposes that involves extracting deep
fat by vacuuming it from under the skin. This
layer of fat is not where cellulite originates
and therefore, liposuction is not the
right treatment for cellulite.
Liposuction may sometimes worsen the
appearance of cellulite as it involves
sucking large amount of reserve fat right under
the skin, causing the dimpling and “orange-peel”
appearance on skin.
If you’re considering liposuction
as your choice of cellulite reduction
treatment, liposuction must
be used in combination with other cellulite
reduction treatments to achieve optimal
result. Endermologie
is often used along with liposuction
for cellulite reduction purposes.
Be careful when choosing a liposuction
surgeon if you decide to perform the procedure.
All aspects and risks involve in the procedure
must be discussed at the consultation.
